Knobee Social India is seeking a Backend Developer (Node.js) to join our engineering team in Noida (Work from Office). You will design, build, and optimize scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js, focusing on secure, high-performance systems.

You will implement authentication, integrate payment gateways, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Build robust server-side apps following industry best practices.
• Design and optimize database structures and queries for performance.
• Develop microservices-based architectures for scalable systems.
• Implement authentication and authorization (JWT, RBAC).
• Integrate payment gateways and external APIs.
• Develop real-time features using Socket.IO or WebSockets.

• Deploy, monitor, and maintain apps on Linux-based and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Develop robust and secure server-side applications following industry best practices.
• Design and optimize database structures, queries, and indexing for improved performance.
• Build and maintain microservices-based applications for scalable and maintainable systems.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Integrate third-party services, payment gateways, and external APIs.
• Develop real-time communication features using Socket.IO or WebSockets.
• Optimize application performance through caching, asynchronous processing, and efficient database operations.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain production applications on Linux-based environments and cloud infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decision‑making.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow clean coding standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 2-3 years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, and JavaScript.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong knowledge of MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Redis caching and performance optimization.
• Good understanding of Microservices Architecture and asynchronous programming.
• Hands-on experience with Git version control.
• Familiarity with Linux, Nginx, and PM2.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (EC2/S3) is preferred.
• Understanding of messaging systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka is an advantage.
• Experience integrating payment gateways such as Razorpay is a plus.

Good to Have

• Experience with TypeScript.
• Exposure to Python or FastAPI.
• Knowledge of WebRTC, Socket.IO, or other real-time communication technologies.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments.
• Exposure to Generative AI, LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, Vector Databases, or Elasticsearch will be considered an added advantage.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
