Node.js Architect (GenAI / Agentic AI Focus)

Location: Bengaluru

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Node.js Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance, secure, and cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, microservices architecture, distributed systems, API development, cloud technologies, and Agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph.

Python is not mandatory, however candidates must have hands‑on experience building AI‑powered applications using LangChain, LangGraph, LLM integrations, AI agents, RAG architectures, and orchestration frameworks. The architect will be responsible for defining architectural standards, driving technology decisions, and leading engineering teams in delivering enterprise‑grade solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive end‑to‑end application architecture using Node.js, TypeScript, and modern backend technologies.
• Design and develop scalable, resilient, and high‑performance applications using microservices and event‑driven architectures.

• Drive technology selection, code reviews, architecture governance, and engineering best practices.

• Ensure application security, performance optimization, maintainability, and high availability.

• Mentor senior engineers and technical leads while establishing coding standards and architecture frameworks.

Required Technical Skills

Core Backend & Architecture

• Strong expertise in Node.js, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
• Hands‑on experience with Express.js, NestJS, Fastify, or similar Node.js frameworks.
• Extensive experience in Microservices Architecture, Distributed Systems, Design Patterns, Domain‑Driven Design (DDD), and Event‑Driven Architecture.
• Strong expertise in REST APIs, GraphQL, API Security, Authentication & Authorization.
• Experience with API Gateways and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of Scalable System Design and Performance Engineering.

Agentic AI & GenAI (Mandatory)

• Hands‑on experience with LangChain and LangGraph.
• Experience building AI Agents, Multi‑Agent Systems, Agent Orchestration, and Autonomous Workflows.
• Experience integrating LLMs such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or open‑source models.
• Strong understanding of RAG (Retrieval‑Augmented Generation) architectures.
• Experience with Prompt Engineering, Context Management, Memory Frameworks, Tool Calling, and Function Calling.
• Experience integrating AI applications with vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, FAISS, or Azure AI Search.

Cloud & DevOps

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and Cloud‑Native Architectures.
• Experience with observability tools, logging, monitoring, distributed tracing, and production support.

Data & Messaging

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, or other relational/NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, AWS SQS/SNS, or equivalent.

Security

• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, OWASP Top 10, Secure Coding Practices, and Enterprise Security Standards.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to Python‑based AI ecosystems (preferred but not mandatory).
• Experience with Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.
• Experience building enterprise‑grade Agentic AI platforms.
• Knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol), Tool Integration Frameworks, and AI Governance.
• Experience with enterprise application modernization and digital transformation programs.
• Understanding of CQRS, Event Sourcing, and Serverless Architectures.
• Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership capabilities.

Candidate Profile

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with significant expertise in Node.js architecture and enterprise application design.
• Proven experience designing and delivering large‑scale, cloud‑native applications.
• Hands‑on experience with LangChain and LangGraph is mandatory.
• Strong experience in GenAI, AI Agents, Multi‑Agent Systems, and LLM‑based application development.
• Ability to balance hands‑on technical leadership with architecture strategy and governance.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and drive technical decisions aligned with business objectives.
