Responsibilities

  • Support global New Product Approval (NPA) governance for the EMEA region.
  • Perform QA reviews through the NPA lifecycle to ensure risk controls and policy alignment.
  • Produce management information and reports for senior management and governance.
  • Assist in AI/GenAI-related initiatives, including requirements and UAT.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory exams and remediation activities.

We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in the Legal and Compliance division.In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm’s management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. This is an Associate level position within the New Product Approval (NPA) team, this team The NPA Department governs the process around the review and approval of new product initiatives across all Firm business lines globally to ensure that Firm infrastructure and control groups confirm support capabilities and validate that risk is adequately managed. The Department reports on new product activity to the Firm's business risk management organizations, infrastructure groups and senior management on a regular basis. In addition, the Department is responsible for routine reporting to enterprise level governance committees and engages with regulators as required.Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the worldWhat you'll do in the role:Support the Firm's NPA team in governing the global New Product Approval process, primarily for the EMEA region and related activitiesPerform quality assurance reviews throughout the NPA lifecycle to ensure risks are appropriately managed, policies and procedures are followed, and proposals align with strategic objectivesTrack and monitor QA findings, issues, action items and due dates, ensuring timely escalation and resolutionProduce management information, metrics and reporting for senior management, governance forums and internal stakeholdersContribute to GenAI and technology initiatives by defining business requirements, designing and testing AI prompts, performing UAT, supporting platform administration, and partnering with technology teams to implement enhancementsSupport internal audit reviews, regulatory examinations and related remediation activitiesParticipate in ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives in support of team and departmental objectiveWhat you'll bring to the role:Bachelor's Degree required with at least 2+ years of experience in an analytical role within the financial services industryGood understanding of and familiarity with financial services industry preferredBasic knowledge of products/services related to sales and trading, investment banking, investment management and wealth management preferredExperience with or knowledge of AI related tools is a strong plusStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detailProven ability to manage multiple priorities and significant workloads in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentSound judgement with the ability to identify, assess, and escalate issues appropriatelyExcellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative team-oriented approachAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of MS Access and VBA/Macros is advantageousComfortable working in a Windows/365 environment and able to quickly learn proprietary applications and platforms such as JIRA and CognosExposure to GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) and their practical application in business processes, testing, or workflow optimization is preferredCoverageMonday to Friday from 11.30 AM to 8.30 PM India time with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters (including India Public Holidays).WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY:At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
