Job summary

Magnamious seeks an experienced security engineer to administer enterprise firewalls and security policies in a busy Mumbai environment.

You will manage Fortinet FortiGate and Sophos Firewall setups, monitor logs, and implement change-controlled network policies. This role emphasizes proactive threat management, VPN administration, and ongoing device hardening, with a focus on reliable, auditable security operations.

Qualifications

• Experience administering enterprise firewalls and security policies.
• Hands-on expertise with Fortinet FortiGate and Sophos Firewall.
• Knowledge of VPN, logging, monitoring, and change controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage and update firewall rule bases at user, client, and session levels.
• Administer firewall security policies, backups, alerts, monitoring, and logging.
• Configure security policies for network infrastructure with change management.
• Perform security policy administration and regular configuration backups.
• Proactively update security device signatures and monitor logs.
• Design and review network zoning and maintain policy alignment.
• Configure and manage IPSEC site-to-site and remote access VPNs.
• Perform device hardening, backups, and ongoing management.
• Handle log management and security monitoring activities.
• Detect and mitigate WLAN attacks and optimize WLAN configuration.
• Monitor IP addressing, DNS, IPSLA, and perform IOS upgrades after staging validation.

Job description

Role & responsibilities :

• Manage and update firewall rule bases, including system/group definitions and authentication configurations at user, client, and session levels
• Administer firewall security policies, including system backups, alerts, monitoring, and logging functions
• Configure and maintain security policies for network infrastructure following proper change management processes
• Perform security policy rule administration and maintain regular configuration backups
• Proactively update and manage security device signatures
• Ensure log rotation, monitoring, and housekeeping of security device logs while maintaining optimal disk space utilization
• Design and implement proper network zoning architecture, with periodic review of security policies
• Configure and manage IPSEC VPNs (site-to-site and remote access)
• Perform network device hardening, configuration backups, and ongoing device management
• Handle log management and security monitoring activities
• Detect and mitigate WLAN attacks and perform WLAN configuration optimization
• Monitor and manage network configurations such as IP addressing, subnet masks, DNS settings, and IPSLA, ensuring adherence to change management processes
• Monitor existing IOS versions and installed patches; plan and execute IOS upgrades after validation in staging/incubation environments before production rollout
