Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Network & Infrastructure Operations Engineer in India to manage, secure, and scale network infrastructure across private cloud, data centers, and multi-cloud environments. You will work on Layer 2/3 networks, high-capacity links, and automation to ensure peak reliability.

The role requires 3+ years in enterprise/network ops, with hands-on experience across Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Juniper, Palo Alto, and cloud networking.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS/CE or related field.
• 3+ years in enterprise data center or cloud network ops.
• Experience with Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Juniper and Palo Alto devices.
• Strong Linux networking knowledge and Kubernetes/OpenStack/Ceph familiarity.
• Automation with Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP networking.
• Excellent communication and on-call readiness.

Responsibilities

• Provision, configure, deploy, and tune Layer 2/3 networks across devices.
• Maintain high-capacity links and routing protocols with uptime targets.
• Automate network operations using Ansible, Python, and Terraform.

Our global infrastructure underpins every facet of Cloudera’s business - from data center operations to IaaS-delivered analytics and multi-cloud platforms. As a Network & Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you will be part of a high-impact team responsible for managing, securing, and scaling our network infrastructure across private cloud, physical data centers, and multi-cloud environments to ensure peak reliability and performance.

As a Network Engineer you will

• Provision, configure, deploy, and tune Layer 2/3 networks (VLANs, subnets, routing, access control) across Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Juniper, and Palo Alto firewalls for cloud, data center, lab, and office environments.
• Maintain high-capacity links (10 GbE – 100 GbE), routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), throughput, and capacity dashboards while proactively resolving network bottlenecks to hit strict uptime targets.
• Automate repetitive network operations, provisioning, and change management using Ansible, Python, and Terraform to build reproducible workflows.
• Multi-level troubleshooting (physical, logical, cloud edge) for incident triage and resolution (including P1/P2 events).
• Maintain operational runbooks, precise network topology diagrams, capacity plans, and change management records to support cross-functional engineering, SRE, InfoSec and Infrastructure Operations teams.
• Partner with InfoSec to manage certificates/keys, enforce firewall policies, remediate switch vulnerabilities, and support physical data center operations (OS upgrades, switching/routing configurations).

We are excited about you if you have

• Relevant technical studies or a BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on enterprise, data center, or cloud network operations experience (L2/L3, Ethernet, VLAN, STP, BGP/OSPF, VPNs, routing, and switching).
• Experience managing enterprise network vendors (Cisco/Meraki, Dell, Juniper) and Palo Alto firewalls, including traffic analysis and security hardening.
• Strong foundation in Linux networking fundamentals (bridges, bonding, iptables, namespaces), paired with hands-on experience in Kubernetes networking (CNIs, service mesh, ingress), OpenStack networking, and awareness of distributed storage connectivity (e.g., Ceph).
• Proficiency with automation tools such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or GCP (VPCs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, Transit Gateway).
• Familiarity with network monitoring, alerting tools, diagnostic dashboards, and troubleshooting.
• Clear technical communication, strong documentation skills and available on-call when needed.

• Advanced Routing: Expertise in BGP route policy and AS path filtering.
• Industry Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE, or relevant public cloud networking certifications.
