Job summary

IMC Trading is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement and support high-performance, low-latency networks across WAN, LANs and connectivity to trading venues. You will collaborate with Systems Engineers and external partners to deliver reliable infrastructure for trading.

The role emphasizes accuracy, scripting for automation (Bash/Python), and security governance, including firewalls and VPNs. Flexible hours and potential international datacenter involvement are part of the scope.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer
• Proven ability to design, implement, and support high-performance networks
• Strong appetite for accuracy and willingness to go beyond standard textbook networking concepts
• Collaborative mindset with experience working closely across cross-functional teams
• Ability to motivate and encourage peers while maintaining a high technical standard
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support the networking infrastructure. Key areas include low-latency networking, unicast and multicast routing, OSPF, BGP, PIM-SM, as well as QoS, STP, NAT, protocol tuning, etc.
• Monitor, guard and analyze the proper functioning of our network infrastructure. Take adaptive, retentive and corrective measures and perform structural maintenance.
• Proactively improve our infrastructure by contributing scripts and code to our automation efforts (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Accurately create and maintain documentation detailing the implemented network components, as well as relevant procedures and other documentation.
• Responsible for IT security related platforms, including Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and security policies.
• Work flexible hours. We are proud of the uptime of the trading environment, so occasional support outside regular business hours is required to apply critical changes. This could be from your desk, your home, or in one of our datacenters abroad.
• Liaise with external vendors, exchanges and providers to explore new technology solutions, implement new services or troubleshoot problems.

Join our forward-thinking team as a Network Engineer, where you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting high-performance, low-latency network infrastructure. At IMC, the Trading Infrastructure team is responsible for the WAN, LANs, and all low-latency connectivity to trading venues. You will work closely with Systems Engineers, internal teams, and external partners to deliver best-in-class solutions that support our trading business and help evolve our infrastructure to meet the demands of a dynamic industry.
