Job summary

HCLTech in India is seeking an experienced Network Security Specialist to own and optimize security infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments. The role emphasizes hands-on management of routing, switching, firewalls, proxies, and IDS/IPS, with strong emphasis on Azure security tools and cloud-native patterns.

You will deliver capacity planning, performance analysis, and on-call support, driving proactive improvements and automation across the security landscape.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in a Network/Telecommunications role with routing, switching, firewall, proxy, IDS/IPS, NAC and SD-WAN technologies.
• Experience with Fortinet FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer and Fortinet SD-WAN is essential.
• Hands-on IaC scripting with AZ CLI/PowerShell/Bicep/JSON templates; PaS experience.
• Well-versed in Azure cloud security tools and network technologies.
• Experience building architecture patterns for public/cloud-native environments.
• Experience with cloud security assessments and IaC tools (Terraform/Ansible).
• Experience in public or hybrid cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience with cloud-native or third-party firewalls on cloud.

Responsibilities

• Own the Security Infrastructure support and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Ensure SLAs, performance analysis, troubleshooting and capacity planning for security platforms.
• Monitor and maintain the overall environment with senior team members.
• Execute change controls and update process documentation.
• Participate in troubleshooting, capacity planning, and root-cause analysis.
• Communicate system issues to peers and managers; participate in 24x7 on-call.
• Automate operational tasks to improve efficiency and robustness.
• Handle multiple complex tasks under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Refresh heat maps and campus network security plans; monitor performance trends.
• Develop and monitor global weekly/monthly reports by business sector.

Job description

The ideal candidate will have deep experience of networking technologies, such as Routing and switching, Firewalls, proxy, GNAC, IDS/IPS, routing, switching, managing heterogeneous environment generate metrics related to Security, Network performance, capacity, availability, failure rates, and will also have a strong background in network performance management, service delivery and strategic operations planning with a strong technical orientation creative in problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

• This is a hands-on technical role:
• Independently own the Security Infrastructure support solving complex issues and suggest design modifications as appropriate.
• Ensure SLAs are met - Responsible for performance analysis, proactive troubleshooting, and capacity planning for the Security platforms.
• Perform monitoring and maintenance of overall environment working with experienced team members.
• Perform change controls. Update process documentation and team portals
• Participate in troubleshooting, capacity planning and analysis, performance analysis Root Cause Analysis.
• Communicate with peers and managers regarding system issues participate in 24x7 on-call.
• Automate operational tasks to make processes simpler and more robust.
• Ability to handle multiple complex tasks in a dynamic environment, with tight deadlines concurrently.
• Refresh heat-maps and operations plans for campus network Security connectivity
• Monitor and analyze statistical data to develop improvement plans for network Security and application performance
• Provide an effective network Security capacity plan
• Develop and monitor global weekly and monthly trending reports by business sectors to justify future growth

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of working in a Network / Telecommunications role, with expert level experience with Routing and Switching, Firewall Management, Proxy Management, IDS/IPS Management, NAC Management, SD-WAN, VPN, Firewalls, etc technologies
• Experience with technologies Forti Manager, FortiAnalyzer, Fortinet Firewalls and Fortinet SD-WAN is must.
• Hands on experience with Azure Enterprise-scale reference architectureInfrastructure as Code (IaC) experience - scripting and automation via AZ CLI/PowerShell, Bash, Bicep, JSON templates etc. Policy as Code (PaS) experience
• Well versed in Azure cloud Security native security tools and network technologies
• Experience in creating architecture patterns for public cloud and cloud-native solutions
• Experience with assessments of cloud security.
• Hands on experience with IaC tools like, ARM, terraform, ansible, PowerShell, python, azcli, github.
• Working experience in any public (Azure, GCP, Oracle , Aws or others) or hybrid cloud
