Job summary

Verisk seeks a senior technical leader for Hybrid work in Hyderabad to guide a development team delivering cloud-native enterprise apps. You will drive architecture, design REST APIs, and collaborate with Product Owners to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

Required: 10+ years in software development, strong AWS expertise, and hands-on experience with .NET Core/C#, Python, Java, PostgreSQL, and Angular. Hybrid work with competitive compensation awaits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; MS preferred.
• 10+ years delivering commercial-grade software products.
• Strong AWS experience including Lambda, Glue and S3.
• Proficient in .NET Core/C#, Python and Java.
• Experience with Angular and REST API design.
• Ability to design distributed, data-intensive cloud solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and day-to-day engineering guidance to the development team.
• Lead solution design from high-level architecture through detailed API, data, integration, and workflow design.
• Design and develop scalable, cloud-hosted applications using AWS, Python, .NET Core/C#, Java, and PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure solutions align with architecture, security, design, and quality standards.
• Evolve existing product architecture, data flows, and integrations.
• Identify and remediate complex technical and data challenges; drive pragmatic solutions.
• Lead performance, scalability, reliability, and production troubleshooting across components.
• Design and develop REST APIs, backend services, and data-processing components.
• Apply software design patterns, OO design, testing, and best practices.
• Conduct design/code reviews and mentor engineers to raise technical quality.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and debt; drive remediation; contribute hands-on when needed.
• Support insurance/risk-management business functionality with data-intensive capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and day-to-day engineering guidance to the development team.

• Work with the team to identify technical risks, dependencies, and technical debt and drive appropriate remediation.
• Contribute hands-on to development, debugging, and resolution of technically complex issues when required.
• Support the design and implementation of insurance and risk-management business functionality, including data-intensive and analytical capabilities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Math, EE, CS or Software Engineering; M.S preferred.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in development of commercial-grade software products.
• 4+ years of Experience with AWS technologies (AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, S3,)
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Strong understanding of AWS services and infrastructure, deploying and managing applications on AWS.
• 6+ years of proven experience in developing and supporting applications using .NET Core, C#, and Python.
• 4+ years of proven experience in developing in Angular.
• Experience with Angular/React is a plus.
• Strong hands‑on AWS experience with services relevant to the team's architecture and workloads.
• Experience designing distributed, asynchronous, and data-intensive cloud solutions.
• Ability to develop use cases for business requirements.
• Effective collaboration with stakeholders, especially Product Management, on feature requirements and project schedules.
• Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Enthusiasm, energy, creativity, and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Fast learner, keen to learn, and ensure software adherence to established architecture, design, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
