Job summary

Tieto Deutschland GmbH, operating through Tieto Tech Consulting, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable software across the full stack using .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, Java and modern front-end tech.

You will collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA, and DevOps to improve CI/CD, test automation with Playwright and Cucumber, and uphold TDD and clean-code practices. The role emphasizes SOLID principles and performance tuning in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in .NET/C# and Java with web/API development.
• Experience with front-end and full-stack development, TDD/BDD.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and databases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud platforms.

When joining Tieto Tech Consulting as a Senior Software Engineer

• You join a skilled team of software engineers and technology professionals where you learn new things together with your colleagues.
• You design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs using .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, and Java.
• You build and enhance front-end features using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or similar technologies.
• You develop and maintain automated end-to-end test suites using Playwright with Cucumber.
• You practice Test-Driven Development (TDD) by writing unit and integration tests before or alongside feature development.
• You collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, QA Engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• You participate in code reviews and help enforce coding standards, security best practices, design patterns, and clean code principles.
• You troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across multiple layers of the technology stack.
• You analyze, optimize, and tune database queries for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
• You contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and support DevOps practices.
• You document technical designs and actively participate in architecture discussions.
• You contribute to building scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software solutions.

Who we are looking for

• You have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• You have strong proficiency in .NET and C#, with hands-on experience building web applications and APIs using ASP.NET Core, including Web API, MVC, and Entity Framework.
• You have solid experience with Java, preferably using Spring Boot or an equivalent enterprise framework.
• You have hands-on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript for front-end or full-stack development.
• You have hands-on experience developing BDD-style automated test suites using Playwright with Cucumber.
• You have a strong commitment to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and experience driving feature development through unit, integration, and acceptance tests.
• You have experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• You have experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• You have demonstrated experience optimizing SQL queries, indexes, and execution plans for high-performance applications.
• You are proficient in version control systems, particularly Git.
• You have a strong understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean code practices.
• You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.

• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or Kafka.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted SDLC practices and experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or BMAD to support development, code review, test generation, and documentation.
• A proactive mindset and an interest in continuously improving software engineering practices and technical solutions.
