Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a skilled MySQL DBA to install, support, and manage high-availability MySQL databases in production environments. The role covers backup/archival, performance tuning, replication setup (including GTID), DR planning, and data migration.

Knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL or MongoDB is a plus, with strong Linux and shell/Perl scripting capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database reliability, security, and efficient operations,

Qualifications

• Expertise in installing, supporting and managing High availability MySQL in Production.
• Proficiency in Backup, Archival and Restoration of MySQL databases.
• Experience in OS and database performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience in MySQL replication setup, group replication, GTID and troubleshooting.
• Setup of High-availability and DR configurations; experience in DR drills.
• Extensive experience with stored procedures, triggers, functions, and partitions.
• Experience in data migration across databases.
• Knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB is a plus.
• Familiarity with Linux file systems and LVM.
• Exposure to cloud environments and virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

• Role focuses on installing, supporting, and managing high-availability MySQL in production.
• Handle backup, archival and restoration processes for MySQL databases.
• Tune and optimize OS and database performance for reliability and efficiency.
• Set up and troubleshoot MySQL replication, group replication, GTID.
• Create HA and DR setups and participate in DR drills.
• Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, functions, and partitions.
• Migrate data between databases as required.
• Adapt knowledge of other DBs (Oracle, PostgreSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Work with Linux file systems and LVM, with cloud/virtualization awareness.
• Maintain security, user management and overall database governance.
• Automate routine tasks using shell or Perl scripting.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team, managing priorities under pressure.
