- Music studies and performance (theory & practice)
- Preferably specialised in traditional music with familiarity with Western music and notation.
- Local–global and intercultural music practices
- Technology and innovation in music education and creation
Responsibilities
- Lead the Music specialisation within the Department of Performing Arts
- Design and teach undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses
- Supervise PhD scholars; mentor student projects and performances
- Conduct and publish research in music studies and performance
- Build collaborations (artists, institutions, MoUs)
- Contribute to curriculum development, research initiatives, and outreach
- Strengthen departmental networks through guest faculty and internships
Qualifications
- PhD in Music or a closely related discipline
- Experience teaching music theory and practice
- Practitioner of Music
- Record of research publications and funded/collective projects
- Experience or demonstrated capacity to supervise PhD research
- Fluency in English; working knowledge of Hindi or willingness to learn is a plus.
