Job summary

Tekskills in India is seeking a senior Murex application support expert to lead complex production support across Front, Middle and Back Office, and manage Murex upgrades with strong reconciliation practices.

You will engage with stakeholders to define requirements, test iterations, and implement strategic enhancements while leveraging SQL, Unix scripting, and API tools to ensure system stability and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in Murex application support within Banking/Financial Services/Capital Markets.
  • Deep understanding of IRD, Fixed income, MBS, FX within Murex, including Front Office modules, trading pricing, valuation models, and risk management.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience in Murex workflows, trade lifecycle, and accounting rules.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate P&L outages and automate reconciliations to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead resolution of complex production functional issues across Back Office, Middle Office, Market Risk and Treasury Accounting.
  • Define requirements with stakeholders, drive testing and implement enhancements.
  • Participate in Murex upgrades/patches and ensure system stability through robust reconciliation.
  • Configure financial instruments in Murex to evolving market practices using scripts/SQL.
  • Support change management and drive continuous improvement in Murex platform.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Finance and Capital Markets: Investigate P&L outages, accounting validations to perform systemic reconciliations and automate as needed to prevent similar outages in the future.
  • Issue Resolution & Oversight: Take charge of resolving complex production functional issues across Back Office, Middle Office, Market Risk, and Treasury Accounting functions, orchestrating effective escalation and resolution processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead stakeholder interactions to define requirements, propose strategic enhancements, and manage iterative testing through to successful implementation.
  • System Integration: Participate and lead various work streams for Murex upgrades and patches, ensuring system stability and alignment with organizational needs through rigorous reconciliation processes.
  • Advanced Configuration: Drive the configuration of financial instruments within Murex to meet evolving market practices and organizational requirements, utilizing advanced technology scripts and SQL.
  • Change Management: Assist and support management in Murex platform evolution initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience in Murex application support within Banking, Financial Services, or Capital Markets, with a proven track record in senior roles.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in the functional configuration (one or more modules) of Murex (Mx3), including implementation, conversion, upgrades, and product testing, with a focus on capital markets.
  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial instruments such as IRD, Fixed income, MBS, FX within the Murex framework, with significant expertise in Murex Front Office modules, trade pricing, valuation models, and risk management.
  • Advanced Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, with experience in market processes, finance operations, and Murex architecture. Familiarity with MxML workflows, trade lifecycle stages, and Accounting Rules is highly desirable.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead complex initiatives and facilitate cross-functional teams, with strong skills in stakeholder management and communication.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline, with substantial hands‑on experience in end‑to‑end systems configuration and implementation.
  • Technical Tools: Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Word, SQL, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint. Experience with Unix queries, shell scripting, Sybase/Oracle, Linux/UNIX, Web Services, Bit Bucket, APIs, JavaScript, and Tableau is a plus.
