Job summary

Merkle in India is seeking a senior cloud architect to lead data-centric solutions across AWS/Azure/GCP. You will design architectures, data models, and cost models, and mentor junior architects while engaging clients.

You will write architecture diagrams, oversee ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, governance, and security, with hands-on development using Python and Databricks. Onsite experience in Europe/UK/US is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture.
• Hands-on with AWS and/or Azure and/or GCP data services.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, analytics platforms.
• Expertise in data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to prepare solution proposals, architecture diagrams, and cost models.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client engagement skills.
• Hands-on development experience with design and implementation.
• Experience in Python for data engineering, automation, and prototyping.
• Mentor junior architects to strengthen the architecture practice.
• SAAS tools experience (Databricks, etc.).
• MDM experience (Informatica, Reltio, Profisee).
• Agentic AI skills

Must have skills:

• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure and/or GCP data services (BigQuery, Synapse, Redshift, Databricks, etc.). Any two cloud experience

• Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and analytics platforms.

• Expertise in data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.

• Ability to prepare solution proposals, architecture diagrams, and cost models.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and client engagement skills.

• Should be hands-on in development, with the ability to design and implement solutions directly.

• Experience in Python for data engineering, automation, and solution prototyping.

• Mentor junior architects to develop technical capabilities and strengthen the overall architecture practice.

• SAAS based tools experience (Databricks etc)

• MDM experience ( Informatica, Reltio, Profisee etc)

• Agentic AI skills

• Proven track record in pre-sales solutioning and responding to RFPs/RFIs.

• 'Familiarity with AI/ML integration into data architectures.

Education Qualification-

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.

Certification

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect

• Azure Data Engineer / Azure Solutions Architect

• GCP Professional Data Engineer

• Other relevant cloud or data architecture certifications are a plus.
