Job summary

Maersk in Chennai seeks a proactive logistics professional to manage loads, plan drayage, and schedule container movements. The role requires coordinating with drivers, ports, and clients to ensure timely execution of shipments while navigating daily operational challenges.

Night shifts are required and strong English communication is essential. The ideal candidate holds a graduate degree (finance/accounting preferred) and 3–5 years of shipping & logistics experience, with MS Office proficiency

Qualifications

• Willing to work full night shifts.
• 3–5 years minimum experience in shipping & logistics.
• Experience with documentation review, data entry, reporting, landside execution is a plus.
• Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Assign loads to drivers in Trinium, ensuring allocation based on availability and capacity, assisting with daily operational challenges over the phone.
• Generate the Dispatch Report and consolidate drayage planning for the next business day using multiple data sources.
• Schedule pickup and drop-off appointments for containers at the port via the terminal's website.
• Investigate loads completed today and those planned for tomorrow.
• Track and monitor loads to be exported or already picked up for timely movement.
• Evaluate driver availability and assign suitable loads.
• Maintain clear client communication for drayage issues and information requests for scheduling.
• Schedule warehouse appointments when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assign loads to drivers in Trinium, ensuring accurate allocation based on availability and capacity. Assisting them with over daily operational challenges over the call.
• Generate the Dispatch Report, consolidating the drayage planning for the next business day using data from Trinium, along with information from client reports, port appointments, and assigned drivers.
• Schedule pickup and drop-off appointments for containers at the port, through the terminal's website.
• Conduct thorough investigations regarding the loads drivers have completed at the end of the current day and those they will begin the following day.
• Track and monitor loads to be exported and those already picked up, ensuring timely movement.
• Evaluate driver availability and assign them to loads they are capable of transporting.
• Maintain clear communication with the client’s teams in the event of drayage issues or when requesting relevant information for appointment scheduling.
• Schedule appointments at the customer’s warehouse when needed.

Required Experience & Skills

• Excellent communication skills (English) – Fluent Oral & Written
• Graduate, ideally Finance and Accounting
• Willing to work in full night shifts
• Should carry 3-5 years of min experience in Shipping & logistics industry
• Prior experience with documentation review, data entry, reporting, Landside execution will be an advantage
• Should be able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• Good working knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

Graduate of any bachelor's degree.
Fluent in English with good communication skills.
