Job Description Summary

With the renewed focus on global commerce, building amazing commerce experiences for our community of users is at the core of eBay’s mission. A critical component of this mission is our extensive technology infrastructure, platforms, and application services. It is an exciting time to be part of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, which plays an integral role at the intersection of software engineering and infrastructure/systems engineering. The SRE team strives to make eBay’s services secure, highly available, reliable, and performant for our community. The team has a unique opportunity to advocate for and participate in building resilient services that are effectively monitored, alerted, and self-healed by applying software engineering practices.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure the security, availability, reliability, and performance of eBay’s services.
• Build and maintain resilient, monitored, and self-healing services.
• Troubleshoot issues spanning systems, network (TCP/IP), and code.
• Develop and maintain software using Java, Python, Scala, etc.
• Manage large-scale web operations, Java/J2EE architectures, and JVM configurations.
• Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Work with data structures, relational and NoSQL databases, networking, and Linux systems.
• Utilize AI/ML development tools like GitHub Copilot, CLINE, and Cursor to enhance customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Masters in Computer Science or Math with 3 years of experience, or BS with 5 years of experience.
