Job summary

SGS Technologie in Coimbatore is seeking a hands-on MS SQL Database Administrator to implement, configure, maintain, and optimize SQL Server RDBMS systems across our corporate applications. This role is a practical, client-facing position that requires strong technical and communication skills.

The candidate will manage AlwaysOn availability groups, backups, security, and performance, while ensuring high availability and secure data storage.

Qualifications

• 4+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required.
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory.
• Extensive knowledge in database design, implementation, and conversion.
• Knowledge with SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS.

Responsibilities

• Create new Microsoft SQL Server instances and configure them, including AlwaysOn availability groups and failover clustering
• Facilitate brainstorming meetings with clients to review, analyse, and assess business systems and needs
• In charge of database backup and recovery methods, database access security and integrity, physical data storage design, and data storage administration
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. This is a "hands-on" position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
