Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Limited in Kolkata, India seeks an MRI Technologist to perform high-field MRI procedures and radiographic tasks. You will position patients, screen for MR safety, and assist with clerical duties while maintaining patient records and strict safety protocols.

The role includes equipment maintenance, report preparation, and coordination of patient flow to ensure efficient and safe imaging services in a busy diagnostic center.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-field MRI systems and related equipment to produce specialized radiographic images.
• Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedures.
• Conduct radiological procedures when MRI duties are not required.
• Initiate IV access and administer contrast media per protocol.
• Assess MR images for quality and ensure correct labeling of sequences.
• Schedule procedures and assist with clerical duties; maintain accurate patient records.
• Address patients' psychological and physical needs during MR procedures.
• Coordinate scheduling and patient flow to optimize operations.
• Daily maintenance of MRI equipment to sustain operations; uphold clean, safe environment.
• Prepare and release MRI reports as needed with required documentation.
• Monitor and order supplies to maintain adequate medical and office inventory.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• 1. Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce special radiographic images of specific body parts
• 2. Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
• 3. Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance
• 4. Perform Radiological procedures when not performing MRI Duties
• 5. Start I.V.s, administer contrast media as directed and as per protocol
• 6. Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately
• 7. Schedule patients for procedures; assist with clerical functions
• 8. Maintain accurate patient records
• 9. Provide for the psychological and physical needs of patients for MR procedures
• 10. Coordinate scheduling and patient flow
• 11. Daily maintenance of equipment to sustain continued operations.
• 12. Maintenance of a clean and safe working environment.
• 13. Preparation and release of MRI reports as needed by provider or patient to include signing of release authorization and other necessary documentation.
• 14. Handles the monitoring and ordering of supplies to maintain proper medical and office supply quantity.
