Job summary

Happiest Minds Technologies in Maharashtra is seeking an experienced Embedded Linux Engineer to design, develop and maintain C++ applications on embedded hardware. You will build & customize Linux distributions with Yocto and integrate industrial protocols for reliable IoT connectivity.

The role requires hands-on experience with Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet, REST APIs and cloud connectivity using MQTT. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable embedded solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Embedded Linux, Yocto, C++; hands-on hardware experience.
• Experience with industrial protocols like Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet, REST API; Cloud connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain Embedded Linux applications in C++ on target hardware.
• Develop and customize Linux distributions using Yocto for embedded devices.
• Integrate industrial protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet, REST APIs.
• Enable cloud/IoT connectivity using MQTT and related frameworks.
• Perform system bring-up, driver interaction, debugging and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Embedded Linux applications using C++ on custom hardware platforms
• Build and customize Linux distributions using Yocto for embedded devices
• Integrate and debug industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet, REST APIs
• Implement cloud and IoT connectivity using MQTT and related frameworks
• Perform system bring‑up, driver interaction, debugging, and performance optimization on embedded hardware
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable embedded solutions

Must Have

• Overall 6+ years of experience in Embedded Linux, Yocto, C++; working project experience on embedded Linux hardwares
• Understanding of any Industrial protocols like Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet, REST API, Cloud connectivity (IoT, MQTT)

Nice to Have

• Good experience in Microservice development (EdgeX)
