AI Scientist – Modern AI Applications

As a Principal AI Scientist with expertise in Agentic AI, Generative AI, and NLU, you will lead technical innovation in healthcare information systems (HIS) applications, driving research, development, and product integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Research & Innovation – design, prototype, and evaluate novel AI models for autonomous, agent-based healthcare workflows.
• Advance state-of-the-art NLU for clinical, operational and administrative healthcare text and explore reasoning, decision-making and multi-modal understanding.
• Healthcare-Focused AI Development – adapt and fine-tune large language models for healthcare-specific language, regulatory requirements, and ethical considerations; build pipelines for structured and unstructured data (FHIR, HL7, clinical notes, claims).
• Contribute domain-specific model architectures that improve clinical decision-making, revenue cycle management and patient engagement.
• Technical Leadership – serve as the primary technical authority on Agentic and Generative AI, mentor junior scientists and engineers, drive internal knowledge sharing.
• Operational & Compliance Excellence – implement rigorous model evaluation frameworks, ensure compliance with HIPAA and HITRUST, and partner with engineering to move prototypes into production environments.

Required Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML with a strong portfolio of deployed models.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and modern ML libraries.
• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, transformer architectures, and autonomous AI agents.
• Strong record applying AI to healthcare or life sciences use cases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and MLOps practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with multi-modal AI, knowledge graph integration and symbolic reasoning.
• Ability to take AI research from concept to production.
