Job summary

Iris Software is seeking an experienced Mobile Application Developer/Technical Lead in India to guide full-stack mobile projects. You will lead Android development, participate in architectural decisions, and ensure high-quality code through reviews and refactoring.

The role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and a hands-on approach. Ideal candidates have extensive experience in C#, Xamarin/Maui, React Native, and RESTful services, and thrive in agile environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
• 8+ years software development experience.
• 4+ years of demonstrated experience in a technical lead role.
• 4+ years of mobile application development Android required.
• Advanced knowledge of IT software development methodologies and processes in an agile environment (Scrum).
• Full Stack development experience using C#, Xamarin/Maui, and React Native.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle).
• Experience creating and consuming distributed data services (REST APIs, Messaging Buses) and SOA design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to defining new business requirements; identifies risks and proposes tools to deliver quality products faster.
• Acts as liaison between project management, technical teams and IT leadership; drives consistency across applications and projects.
• Manages coding quality, code reviews, refactoring, and collaboration with Enterprise Architecture on standards.
• Coding project deliverables and hands-on development as needed.
• Mentor developers, resolve roadblocks, conduct code reviews and coordinate deployment of software solutions.
• Available for production deployment and on-call troubleshooting hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinates technical tasks and ensures teams are working efficiently; oversees the development/support of specific IT areas and systems, and timely delivery of projects. (25%)
• Contributes to defining new business requirements; identifies and communicates risks to the business; investigates and proposes new tools and frameworks to deliver quality products faster. (10%)
• Acts as a liaison between project management, technical teams and IT leadership; assures best practices are defined and followed; drives consistency across applications and projects wherever possible. (5%)
• Manages all aspects of coding for the team branching, code review, ensure code reusability and maintainability with constant refactoring, collaboration with Enterprise Architecture team on standards and approaches. Ultimately accountable for the quality of the code for the project. (10%)
• Coding project deliverables (25%)
• Mentor developers and help resolve technical roadblocks; conduct collaborative code reviews and coordinate the deployment and implementation of software solutions; recognize organizational/team challenges and address them with management. (20%)
• Available for production application deployment and troubleshooting hours and/or on-call basis. (5%)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not have formal supervisory responsibility; however, it has overall leadership responsibility for the work of team members in the context of technical leadership.

DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position requires independent decision-making and recommendations within the context of assigned projects, stakeholders, and management teams.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• 8+ years software development experience including creating business applications with relational and non-relational database systems, within a fast-paced software development environment.
• 4+ years of demonstrated experience in a technical lead role.
• 4+ years of mobile application development Android required
• Advanced knowledge of IT software development methodologies and processes in an agile environment (Scrum).
• Full Stack development experience using C#, Xamarin/Maui, and React Native
• Experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle)
• Experience creating and consuming distributed data services (REST APIs, Messaging Buses) and SOA design patterns.
• Experience gathering, analyzing and documenting feature requirements.
• Experience with multithreaded application design
• Experience working under multiple operating systems like Windows, UNIX (Sun Solaris and Linux) and UNIX Shell scripting.
• Experience with asynchronous messaging frameworks for application integration, Google Firebase preferred.
• Experience in production support activities by monitoring and troubleshooting of production issues.
• Experience in source control management using GIT.
• Effective independent, team player and self-starter with high adaptability to modern technologies.
• Additional desirable skills and experience include:
  • Transportation and logistics industry experience (desirable).
  • Strong proficiency in at least one of the following roles: business analyst, project manager, and data analyst.Technical Competencies
