Overview
Middle QA Automation Engineer is a remote, full-time, long-term position with a distributed team across Europe and the USA. The role combines hands-on manual testing with advanced test automation to ensure the quality and performance of high-profile web applications, including e-commerce platforms, online banking, and trading systems.
Location: Remote. Working hours aligned with GMT+05:30 (IST).
Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive manual and exploratory testing to ensure functionality, usability, performance, and speed optimization.
- Report, track, and verify defects using Jira, TestRail, and other QA tools.
- Conduct pre-release and regression testing to guarantee high-quality deployments.
- Develop, maintain, and expand automated test suites using the framework: Cucumber.js (BDD with Gherkin), Playwright (TypeScript), Page Object Model (POM), TypeScript, and XPath selectors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Europe and the USA; communicate test results and QA insights in English.
- Explore and integrate AI-powered testing tools to enhance efficiency and coverage.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation frameworks, and test strategies.
- Validate performance improvements and ensure applications are fast, scalable, and optimized for end users.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in QA with a strong mix of manual and automated testing.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and defect lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (preferably Playwright, Cucumber.js).
- Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
- Familiarity with test management tools such as Jira and TestRail.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leveraging AI tools in QA workflows.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based test environments.
- Familiarity with web application performance optimization, e-commerce, and online banking/trading systems.
- Prior experience with BDD or TDD approaches.
