Job summary

instinctools is seeking a Middle Data Scientist to join our Noida (office) team, driving AI-first engineering across delivery projects and internal initiatives.

You will own the full data science lifecycle from preprocessing to deployment, building predictive models and communicating insights to stakeholders.

The role requires 2–4 years of data science experience, strong Python/SQL skills, and a passion for responsible AI and scalable ML.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, ML, or equivalent.
• 2–4 years as a Data Scientist or equivalent ML role.
• Strong Python and SQL with ML tools experience.
• Experience owning model-development and experiments end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Own the full analytical lifecycle from data preprocessing to insights.
• Design, build, deploy, and improve predictive and ML models.
• Lead A/B test design, execution, and analysis with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to build data pipelines and datasets.
• Translate business questions into analytical problems and communicate findings.
• Champion data quality and governance across modeling workflows.
• Integrate AI tools across the modeling lifecycle and govern outputs.
• Mentor junior Data Scientists on responsible AI.

Project Description:

The project covers the full Data Science and ML lifecycle, from problem definition to model deployment and monitoring, with an opportunity to actively shape and drive the team’s analytical and ML direction.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Own the full analytical lifecycle, including data preprocessing, EDA, statistical modeling, and delivery of business-focused insights;
• design, build, deploy, evaluate, and continuously improve predictive and ML models, including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series models;
• own A/B test design, execution, and analysis, and clearly communicate statistical significance to product and business stakeholders;
• collaborate with Data Engineers to define data requirements and feature pipelines, and build or maintain analytical datasets and feature stores;
• translate ambiguous business questions into well-defined analytical problems and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences;
• champion data quality across modeling workflows and ensure adherence to data governance policies and best practices;

integrate AI tools across the modeling lifecycle, including EDA, feature engineering, development, and communication;

use advanced iterative prompting to accelerate experiment design, code generation, and reporting while applying structured governance to AI-generated outputs;

mentor junior Data Scientists on responsible AI use and contribute to the team’s AI literacy practices.

Our Expectations of the Candidate

• Education: Bachelor’s required; Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, ML, or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: 2–4 years as a Data Scientist or equivalent ML role, owning model-development and experimentation workflows end-to-end.
• Technical Skills: Strong Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn; XGBoost/LightGBM/TF/PyTorch at working level); SQL with window functions; MLflow / W&B or similar; basic cloud-platform familiarity.
• Statistics: Solid hypothesis testing, regression, experimental design; causal inference concepts (DiD, regression discontinuity); communicating statistical uncertainty to non-technical stakeholders.
• Other: Track record of insights directly influencing product or business decisions.

English level: Upper-Intermediate or higher
