Job summary

Invest India in New Delhi invites a senior professional to drive investment promotion and business development with global investors and partners. You will organize roadshows, coordinate with government ministries, state teams, and industry partners, and contribute to policy guidance while delivering high-quality country intelligence and stakeholder support.

This role requires 8–10 years of experience in investment/trade promotion, exposure to international organisations, and optional Japanese

Job description

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

• Source and engage active investment leads through targeted outreach.
• Facilitate initial interactions with potential investors, independently or with industry teams.

Investment Promotion

• Organize and execute roadshows and promotional events, track participation and lead generation.
• Conduct roundtables, webinars, and one-to-many engagements in collaboration with missions, associations, and other partners.
• Innovate and implement new methods for pipeline generation.
• Progress leads to sector or state teams for qualification and conversion.
• Categorize and hand over leads based on touchpoint intensity and investment value.
• Collaborate with industry, state, and R&D teams on lead development.

Enabling Ease of Doing Business (EoDB)

• Identify and collate EoDB issues; support resolution efforts.
• Organize EoDB-focused roundtables
• Provide policy recommendations to relevant sectors and states.
• Support deliverables and receivables in G2G platforms such as Joint Working Groups, CEO Forums, Trade Forums, QUAD, IPEF, WAIPA, etc.
• Ensure quality of outcomes through regular feedback and reporting.
• Develop country intelligence documents covering investment, trade, and R&D.
• Contribute to high-quality country-specific collateral and respond to ad-hoc requests from senior leadership.
• Handle investor queries within defined turnaround times and satisfaction benchmarks.

IRM & Website Management

• Maintain accurate and timely updates on IRM systems regarding advisory, meetings, issues, and policy work.
• Regularly update the country-specific website, including blogs and other content.
• Demonstrate strong collaboration through peer and manager feedback.
• Participate in 360-degree reviews and contribute to a high-performance team culture.

Qualifications

• Master's preferable; minimum 8-10 years of experience
• Experience in investment/trade promotions or working with global companies or exposure to foreign companies
• Exposure to global stakeholders
• Knowing Japanese language at professional expertise an advantage but not mandatory
