A premier visual effects studio in Pune is seeking skilled Compositing Artists at Mid and Senior levels. In this role, you will blend 3D elements, live-action plates, and digital environments, ensuring the aesthetic integrity of every shot. Ideal candidates will have over three years of experience in VFX and proficiency in Foundry Nuke. We are currently seeking highly skilled Compositing Artists at the Mid and Senior levels to join our Pune team. In this role, you are the final architect of the frame, responsible for blending 3D elements, live-action plates, and digital environments into a singular, breathtaking cinematic experience.

The Role: The Final Eye of Production

Reporting directly to the Compositing Supervisor or Lead, the Comp Artist is the last line of defense for visual quality. You are responsible for the aesthetic integrity of shots, ensuring that 3D scenes are integrated with perfect lighting, color, and depth. As a Compositing Artist, you will perform numerical compositing tasks at every critical step of the production pipeline, transforming raw renders into finished movie magic.

• Seamless Integration: As a Comp Artist, you must blend 3D elements and matte paintings into live-action or animated plates while maintaining a high standard of photorealism and visual consistency.
• Technical Compliance: Ensure all shots meet the specific requirements of the rendering processes and the technical rules established for the project.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Lighting, FX, and DMP departments to troubleshoot assets and ensure all elements are optimized for the final comp.
• Proactive Problem Solving: A successful Comp Artist performs tasks with a high degree of analytical skill, anticipating technical hurdles before they reach the final render.
• Production Management: Adhere to strict schedules and production quotas provided by the Coordinator, ensuring a smooth flow of validated shots.
• Organization & Presentation: Meticulously organize work files and prepare element presentations for supervisor and client validations.
• Team Dynamics: Maintain excellent communication and a positive attitude, contributing to a healthy and productive team environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for a Comp Artist who has moved beyond basic tools and possesses a deep understanding of the “invisible art.”

• Aesthetic Mastery: A strong sense of detail, color theory, composition, design, and lighting. You should be able to look at a plate and instinctively know what is missing to make it feel “real.”
• Software Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of Foundry Nuke is mandatory for any Compositing Artist at philm CGI. A working knowledge of Autodesk Maya is a major advantage, specifically for understanding 3D cameras and projection workflows.
• Pressure Management: The ability to work well within a team and maintain high-quality output under the pressure of tight delivery deadlines.
• Technical Literacy: A professional Compositing Artist must understand colorspace (ACES), deep compositing, and multi-channel EXR workflows.
