Job Description
- Lead the compositing team and take end-to-end ownership of assigned projects, ensuring creative quality, production efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Provide strong creative and technical direction on complex, challenging, and high-quality shots while maintaining project standards.
- Mentor and guide Team Leads and Senior Artists, supporting their technical, creative, and leadership development.
- Identify and develop high-performing Senior Artists as potential backup Team Leads and future leadership talent.
- Maintain and continuously improve the 2D library, ensuring its effective utilization across production.
- Drive R&D on new software, plugins, tools, and techniques to improve workflows, quality, and production efficiency.
- Conduct technical workshops and contribute to internal training and knowledge-sharing programs.
- Encourage artists and Team Leads to continuously upgrade their skills and adopt smarter working practices.
- Participate in bidding activities, including script-based, CG-driven, and technically complex projects.
- Collaborate with Supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth workflow integration and resolve production challenges.
- Support artist selection and evaluation, resource planning, and effective team allocation.
- Communicate project updates, changes, priorities, and requirements clearly to the team.
- Build strong professional relationships with Team Leads and artists, fostering a healthy, collaborative, and positive work environment.
- Monitor production progress, identify risks proactively, and take appropriate decisions to ensure successful project delivery.
- Conduct periodic reviews with Supervisors and relevant department leads to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience in VFX Compositing, preferably across feature films, episodic content, commercials, or high-end VFX projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Nuke with strong knowledge of industry-standard compositing workflows.
- Strong understanding of 2D/3D integration, CG compositing, tracking, keying, roto/paint integration, camera projections, and other advanced compositing techniques.
- Good understanding of the overall VFX pipeline and inter-department dependencies.
- Proven experience in team leadership, mentoring, and people management.
- Strong creative and technical problem-solving skills with sound decision-making ability.
