Key Responsibilities:
  • Own end-to-end architecture for Power BI and Microsoft Fabric-based analytics solutions across enterprise environments.
  • Design scalable semantic models using dimensional modeling, star schema, reusable datasets, calculation groups, and enterprise-grade modeling standards.
  • Define architecture blueprints, HLDs, LLDs, data model designs, workspace structures, deployment patterns, and governance frameworks.
  • Evaluate and recommend the right storage and connectivity patterns, including Import, DirectQuery, Direct Lake, Composite Models, Aggregations, and incremental refresh.
  • Lead Microsoft Fabric adoption across Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, Direct Lake, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, Notebooks, and Power BI semantic models.
  • Ensure all BI solutions meet enterprise standards for performance, scalability, security, data quality, maintainability, and compliance.
Power BI, Fabric & Data Engineering Expertise:
  • Build and optimize complex Power BI reports, dashboards, paginated reports, semantic models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and dataflows.
  • Develop efficient DAX calculations, optimize model performance, troubleshoot refresh issues, and improve report responsiveness using best practice tuning techniques.
  • Work with SQL databases, data warehouses, lake houses, APIs, cloud data platforms, and enterprise data sources to deliver reliable analytics solutions.
  • Design medallion-style analytical layers and curated reporting datasets for downstream consumption by Power BI and business users.
  • Implement security concepts including Row-Level Security, Object-Level Security, workspace access strategy, sensitivity labels, and data governance controls.
Leadership, Governance & Delivery:
  • Partner with business stakeholders, data engineers, application teams, and leadership to convert business needs into robust analytical solutions.
  • Mentor developers and analysts on Power BI, DAX, modeling, Fabric capabilities, performance optimization, and governance best practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, or Data Platform delivery, with strong enterprise implementation exposure.
  • 7+ years of hands-on Power BI experience, including semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query, Power BI Service, deployment pipelines, and performance tuning.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, Direct Lake, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, and Fabric workspace design.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in relational databases, data warehouses, lakehouse architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and large-volume data environments.
  • Strong understanding of governance, security, access management, data lineage, quality controls, and enterprise BI lifecycle management.
Preferred / Advanced Skills:
  • Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Spark, Python, REST APIs, Power BI automation, Power Apps, and Power Automate integration.
  • Experience with Power BI Copilot, Microsoft Fabric Copilot, GenAI-assisted analytics, responsible AI practices, and automation-led development acceleration.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate or equivalent Fabric certification.
