Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 functional support for Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Dynamics 365 Business Central Finance modules.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve finance incidents and service requests within SLAs.
• Configure and maintain financial setup including GL, AP, AR, Bank Management, Fixed Assets, budgeting, and VAT/tax.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities.
• Investigate posting issues and variances; assist with reconciliations and payments processing.
• Gather business requirements and translate into functional specifications and change requests.
• Collaborate with NAV/Business Central developers on design, testing, and deployment.
• Prepare functional documentation, SOPs, and user guides; conduct user training.
• Participate in change management, ITIL processes, and service review meetings.

The consultant will provide functional expertise across Microsoft Dynamics Navision / NAV / Dynamics 365 Business Central financial modules, ensuring stable operations, timely incident resolution, continuous improvement, and effective support for finance users. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, hands-on NAV/Business Central configuration experience, and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders, technical teams, and support functions in an SLA-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 functional support for Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Dynamics 365 Business Central Finance modules.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve finance-related incidents, service requests, and system issues within agreed SLAs.
• Configure and maintain financial setup, including: General Ledger Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Bank and cash management Fixed Assets Budgeting Dimensions and posting groups VAT/GST and tax configuration Financial reporting and consolidations
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities.
• Investigate posting issues, reconciliation discrepancies, payment processing exceptions, and financial reporting variances.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications, configuration changes, and enhancement requests.
• Conduct impact assessments for change requests, patches, upgrades, integrations, and customizations.
• Collaborate with NAV/Business Central developers on functional design, testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities.
• Support interfaces between NAV/Business Central and external systems such as banking platforms, expense tools, tax systems, payroll, and reporting solutions.
• Develop and maintain functional documentation, configuration documents, knowledge articles, SOPs, and user guides.
• Execute functional testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and post-deployment validation.
• Deliver end-user training and provide ongoing guidance on finance processes and system best practices.
• Identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities, contributing to problem management and service improvement initiatives.
• Participate in service review meetings and provide updates on incidents, requests, risks, and planned changes.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on functional consulting experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Strong functional experience with NAV/Business Central Finance modules, particularly General Ledger, AP, AR, Bank Management, Fixed Assets, Dimensions, and financial reporting.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, period-close processes, reconciliations, and audit requirements.
• Experience working in a managed services, application support, or SLA-based support environment.
• Proven ability to diagnose functional issues and manage incidents through to resolution.
• Experience configuring financial setups, posting groups, dimensions, approval workflows, and tax/VAT setups.
• Familiarity with NAV/Business Central integrations and the ability to support issue triage across functional and technical teams.
• Experience preparing functional requirement documents, test cases, and user documentation.
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to explain system behavior clearly to finance and non-technical users.
• Ability to manage multiple support tickets, priorities, and deadlines in a structured environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central functional certification.
• Experience supporting NAV upgrades or migrations to Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Exposure to Power BI, Jet Reports, Excel-based reporting, or other financial reporting tools.
• Basic understanding of AL development, C/AL, SQL, APIs, web services, and integration concepts.
• Experience with approval workflows, document management, electronic payments, and localization requirements.
• Experience working with ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery methods and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
