MEP Engineer is responsible for preparing BOQ, pricing, cost estimates, optimizing costs, reviewing and optimizing drawings & designs, equipment & material specifications, pipes & system layouts. He is responsible for procurement, work execution, site installation, performance testing, and maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, STP, UG Tanks, Pumping, and HVAC systems as per project scope.
Skills Required:
- 6+ years of experience in Construction/MEP Coordination
- Good understanding of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems
- General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes, and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction projects
- BE/Dip (Mech/Elec) preferred
- Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, Excel, PowerPoint
Roles and Responsibilities:
Managing multiple MEP projects to ensure minimal problems from design to delivery.
Using project management software, AutoCAD, and word processing programs to create MEP plans.
Managing site activities related to electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation systems.
Overseeing the work of the project management team and ensuring adherence to the project schedule.
Coordinating on-site work with architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers.
Providing MEP system installation, maintenance, and technical advice to service providers and supervisors.
Inspecting, analyzing, and resolving day-to-day site issues related to MEP works.
Reviewing and evaluating the work of contractors, consultants, and other construction professionals.
Reviewing contractor drawings and installation method statements for compliance with the MEP design plan.
Making technical clarifications to resolve coordination issues and design modifications for on-site requirements.
Monitoring and maintaining on-site health and safety policies, ensuring team compliance.
Undertaking off-site inspections of MEP equipment and materials for regulatory compliance and project suitability.
