Job summary

Studio Asa is seeking a motivated MEP Design Engineer to join our design team in Pune. You will assist senior engineers in designing and coordinating MEP services for commercial fit-out projects, and help prepare drawings, layouts, and BOQs.

You will work under guidance to develop concept through detailed engineering, coordinate with architecture and vendors, and participate in on-site verifications to ensure alignment with drawings.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in MEP design.
• Interest in corporate fit-out projects and industry practices.
• Willingness to learn design standards, codes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and preparation of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems.
• Prepare basic MEP layouts, schematics, and design drawings under guidance.
• Support load calculations, equipment selection, and specs.
• Coordinate MEP services with architectural/interior design.
• Update AutoCAD drawings and coordination drawings.
• Assist in BOQ preparation and material specs.
• Attend meetings and incorporate design changes.
• Conduct site visits to verify execution against drawings.
• Maintain documentation of drawings, calculations and submissions.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical information.

Job description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic MEP Design Engineer to join our design team. The candidate will assist senior engineers in the design, coordination, and preparation of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting (MEPF) services for commercial fit-out projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and preparation of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems.
• Prepare basic MEP layouts, schematics, and design drawings under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support in load calculations, equipment selection, and preparation of technical specifications.
• Coordinate MEP services with architectural and interior design
• Prepare and update AutoCAD drawings, including layouts, sections, details, and schematics.
• Assist in preparing BOQs, quantity take-offs, and material specifications.
• Participate in clash detection and coordination between various MEP services.
• Attend internal coordination meetings and incorporate design changes.
• Conduct site visits when required to understand site conditions and verify execution against drawings.
• Maintain proper documentation of drawings, revisions, calculations, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical information and product details.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 1-3 years of experience in MEP design.
• Strong interest in corporate fit-out projects
• Willingness to learn design standards, codes, and industry practices.
• Ability to work on multiple projects under the guidance of a senior engineer.

The candidate will receive exposure to complete MEP design processes, including concept design, detailed engineering, BOQ preparation, coordination, site execution, and client/vendor interaction.
