Jobgether in India is seeking a Medical Writer to create high-quality medical and scientific documents for clinical research and drug development. You will own documents from planning through drafting, review, and final delivery, translating complex data into clear content for internal teams and external clients.

This fully remote role requires collaboration across teams, adherence to regulatory standards, and timely delivery of study reports, protocols, and related materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent qualification.
  • 3+ years of medical writing experience in pharma, CRO, or clinical research.
  • Experience with regulatory documentation and drug development processes.
  • Strong grammar, editorial, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical data clearly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary author for routine medical and scientific documents such as CSPs, CSRs, and study protocols.
  • Support development of complex documents like Investigator’s Brochures and regulatory submissions.
  • Review and present clinical data accurately for intended audiences.
  • Ensure documents comply with quality processes, templates, and project requirements.
  • Edit with strong grammatical and scientific writing skills to deliver clear final deliverables.
  • Support programme management, including timelines and planning for deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to coordinate documentation.
  • Represent the medical writing function in project meetings and reviews.
  • Apply regulatory knowledge to document preparation and review.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation using client templates and management systems.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Medical Writer based in India.

As a Medical Writer, you’ll create high-quality medical and scientific documentation supporting clinical research and drug development activities. You’ll take ownership of assigned documents from planning and coordination through drafting, review, and final delivery. Working with internal teams and external clients, you’ll translate complex clinical data into clear, accurate, and concise content. Your work may span clinical study reports, study protocols, and other regulatory and scientific documents. You’ll contribute to quality, consistency, and compliance while supporting efficient project delivery. The role combines scientific expertise, strong writing skills, attention to detail, and effective stakeholder collaboration. Accountabilities:
  • Medical & Scientific Writing: Serve as a primary author for routine medical and scientific documents, including clinical study reports, study protocols, and clinical data summaries.
  • Complex Documentation: Support the development of more complex clinical, scientific, and programme-level documents, such as Investigator’s Brochures, INDs, and MAAs.
  • Data Interpretation: Review, interpret, and present complex clinical and scientific data accurately, concisely, and in a way that is appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Document Quality: Ensure assigned documents comply with applicable quality processes, standards, templates, and project requirements.
  • Review & Editing: Apply strong grammatical, editorial, proofreading, and scientific writing skills to produce clear and accurate final deliverables.
  • Project Coordination: Support programme management activities, including contributing to timelines, budgets, forecasts, and planning for assigned deliverables.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work effectively with internal teams, external clients, and project stakeholders to coordinate deliverables and resolve documentation requirements.
  • Project Meetings: Represent the medical writing function at project launch meetings, review meetings, and broader project team discussions.
  • Regulatory Support: Apply knowledge of regulatory documentation and the drug development process when preparing and reviewing assigned materials.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to identifying effective methods, processes, and best practices that improve quality and operational efficiency.
  • Document Management: Work with client templates, document management systems, and relevant applications to maintain accurate and organised project documentation.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or an equivalent relevant academic or vocational qualification.
  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant professional experience demonstrating the knowledge and capabilities required for medical writing activities.
  • Industry Background: Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical research, or CRO industry is preferred.
  • Scientific Writing: Previous experience in medical or scientific writing is advantageous, with strong grammar, editorial, and proofreading capabilities.
  • Data Interpretation: Ability to understand, analyse, and communicate complex clinical or scientific data accurately and concisely.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of regulatory documentation and the drug development process.
  • Organisation: Strong administrative, organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills, combined with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt content and communication to different stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently and take initiative while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Judgement: Good judgement, decision-making skills, and the ability to identify and address issues appropriately.
  • Technical Skills: Good computer literacy and experience working with client templates, document management systems, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other relevant applications.
  • Quality Focus: Strong commitment to accuracy, consistency, compliance, and the delivery of high-quality documentation.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to accommodate occasional extended or varied working hours and, where required, limited domestic or international travel.
