Responsibilities

• Complete a brief admission history of each patient and document to ensure high standards of patient care.
• Attend ward rounds with the consulting doctor and follow the advice.
• Inform admitting Consultants of changes in medical conditions and actions taken.
• Follow consultants' instructions for the specific regime for each patient.
• Visit patients as required at the request of nursing staff.
• Visit all in-patients daily and document in clinical notes.
• Be familiar with all relevant procedures and policies.
• Liaise closely with nursing staff and other clinical or administrative staff.
• Ensure comprehensive handover with full patient rounds at shift changes.
• Maintain accurate medical records with signed, dated entries for each attendance.
• Coordinate investigations, surgical and medical treatment, and discharge as directed.
• Ensure discharge summaries and relevant correspondence are completed promptly.
• Participate in compulsory hospital-based training such as Fire, BLS/ACLS.
• Keep abreast of new developments and data analysis or clinical audit.
• Do not seek consent for operations on behalf of a consultant.
• Remain on hospital premises during duty unless handover to reliever is given.
• Any other work assigned by management from time to time.

• Inform admitting Consultants of changes in medical conditions ofpatients & of action taken.
• Follow the instructions of consultants for their specific regimefor each individual patient.
• Visit patients as required at the request of the nursing staff.
• Visit all in-patients daily and document in clinical notes.
• To be familiar with all relevant procedures/policies.
• Liaise closely with nursing staff and other relevant clinical oradministrative staff.
• Ensure that comprehensive handover, with full patient rounds, hastaken place at the beginning and end of each shifts.
• Ensure comprehensive, accurate and concise medical records aremaintained for patients with and appropriate signed and dated legible entry inpatient’s medical record on every attendance upon a patient.
• To coordinate by consultant investigations, surgical treatment,medical treatment and discharge as directed by the Registrar and/or consultantto which assigned.
• Ensure that discharge summaries and other correspondence arecompleted with minimum delay and that all such correspondence is complete priorto leaving the unit.
• Participate in compulsory Hospital based training, i.e., Fire,BLS/ACLS.
• Keep abreast of new developments, skills, technology, and currentliterature in order to initiate and respond to changes in the work environment,e.g. data analysis, clinical audit, research etc.
• Under no circumstances should Associate (Assistant to Doctor) seekconsent for operations or procedures on behalf of a consultant.
• To remain on the hospital premises while on duty. RMO should notleave duty place unless proper handover not given to reliever.
• Any other work assigned by the management from time to time.
