Responsible for providing short-term, specialized patient care, diagnostic monitoring, and minor surgical procedures that do not require overnight hospitalization.
Clinical & Patient Care
- Outpatient Consultations (OPD): Conduct primary medical examinations, take comprehensive patient histories, and assess acute or chronic illnesses.
- Daycare Management: Supervise and manage short-stay patients undergoing procedures like IV fluid therapies, chemotherapy sessions, dialysis, blood transfusions, or prolonged diagnostic monitoring.
- Minor Procedures: Perform or assist in minor surgical or medical procedures such as wound suturing, dressings, incision and drainage (I&D), foreign body removal, and catheterization.
- Diagnostic Interpretation: Order and evaluate basic clinical investigations (e.g., blood tests, X-rays, ECGs) to formulate quick and accurate treatment plans.
Emergency & Stabilization
- Acute Care & Triage: Identify critical shifts in a patient's vital signs or general condition during their short stay.
- Emergency Management: Administer first-line emergency medical care and stabilize patients experiencing sudden medical crises before coordinating transfers to higher care centers.
Operations & Administration
- Multidisciplinary Liaison: Coordinate closely with nursing staff, specialist consultants, and administrators to ensure seamless patient care and timely discharges.
- Medical Documentation: Maintain highly precise Electronic Medical Records (EMR), including admission notes, procedure records, drug charts, and discharge summaries.
- Referrals & Follow-ups: Structure comprehensive discharge guidelines and schedule routine outpatient follow-up care.
Qualifications & Licensing
- Degree: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from a recognized medical council.
- Licensure: Valid and active registration with the relevant State Medical Council or National Medical Commission (NMC)
