Job summary

Omnicom Global Solutions in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Senior Medical Editor to lead editorial quality for physician, healthcare professional, and patient materials, from manuscript through publication.

You will manage a small cluster of products, edit for accuracy, style, and readability, and collaborate with writers, designers, and account teams to ensure high-quality medical content.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10–12 years of experience.
• Knowledge of AMA Manual of Style, 11th edition.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Curiosity/interest in medical topics.
• Organization, attention to detail, and ability to oversee numerous products at once.

Responsibilities

• Lead editor on one product and a team member on other products in the cluster.
• Editing, fact checking, and proofreading all promotional and educational materials for physicians, other healthcare professionals, and patients from manuscript through publication.
• Managing workflow and supervising staff for a cluster of products, including training new team members.
• Advising manager about departmental evaluations, training, and scheduling.
• Coordinating timing and quality control of projects, including content editing, styling, proofreading, and fact checking initial manuscript though publication.
• Working with account executive, project manager, writer, art director, and other team members to ensure that materials are of the highest quality in terms of accuracy, utility, clarity, readability, and appeal.
• Working closely with writers to resolve content/referencing issues.
• Creating and maintaining style guides and reference citation lists.
