Job description

Malleswaram, Bangalore, India | Posted on 08/18/2026

Dognosis digitizes canine cognition to detect 30+ human cancers from a single breath sample, with accuracy exceeding standard-of-care diagnostics and at a cost low enough to scale across entire populations.

We're backed by top-tier VCs across India, the US, Israel, and Europe (including Accel India) and have published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (#1 journal in oncology). We collaborate with UCL, Narayana Health, and Medical Detection Dogs, and have been covered by Scientific American, New Scientist, and Deccan Herald.

Job Description

Our hardware lives at the intersection of precision robotics, wearable design, and clinical-grade sample collection. We need a Mechanical Technician who can build things that work, keep them running, and source what we need to move fast.

What You Will Do
  • Assemble and integrate mechanical and electronic systems for new product development, including automated systems, sub-systems, and wearables for dogs.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical systems and 3D printers; conduct routine testing and calibration to keep custom-built systems at peak performance.
  • Build and test prototypes at low volume, support in-house moulding operations, and learn apparel stitching for custom harness and wearable fabrication.
  • Source and procure components, manage vendor relationships, and maintain accurate inventory and BOM records across project timelines.
  • Document assemblies, integration processes, troubleshooting steps, and all hardware compliance records.
What Success Looks Like (6 Months)
  • Hardware builds ship on time with zero rework cycles caused by assembly error.
  • The lab is well-stocked, vendors are reliable, and procurement happens without friction.
  • Systems stay up. When something breaks, you diagnose and fix it the same day.
You Are a Good Fit If
  • You hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, with 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience.
  • You have built or repaired robots, SPMs, or similar automated systems and can read 2D drawings, 3D CAD, electrical schematics, and harness drawings.
  • You are comfortable with fabrication processes including laser cutting, welding, bending, VMCs, and 3D printing.
  • You know your way around electronics: soldering, wiring, PCB handling, and electro-mechanical device installation.
  • You manage multiple workstreams without dropping things, work independently, and travel to suppliers and sites when needed.
Valuable but Not Required
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
  • Kannada proficiency, particularly for vendor and supplier communication in Bengaluru.
  • Prior startup or NPD environment experience.
