Job summary

Quest Global in Hyderabad is seeking a skilled design engineer for rail/ loco projects. You will create concepts in 3D using CATIA V5, develop detailed models, and prepare 2D drawings and BOMs for validation and production.

Responsibilities include design reviews, feasibility validation, and collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure compliant deliverables. Strong GD&T, drawing reading and PLM experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge on rolling stock design/Loco CAB Design / Train interiors Design
• Ability to independently develop detailed concepts
• Ability to perform hand calculation / analysis to just the proposed design
• Ability to support for validation of assemblies, various installations on Loco CAB Design / Train interiors Design
• Ability to define component and assemblies of sub-systems as per manufacturing & assembly concepts
• Knowledge on Tolerance stack-up analysis and recommend feasible solutions in accordance with manufacturing capabilities
• Ability to analyse and propose retrofit solution for existing design modifications
• Capable of selecting appropriate fasteners for various assemblies
• Good drawing reading skills and dimensioning standard
• Well versed with GD&T
• Hands-on experience on CATIA V5 and PLM platform like Enovia to create 3D models, 2D drawings and product structure
• Knowledge on manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of material properties, heat treatment and surface coating
• Knowledge on Rail industry standards for various regions

• Make the parts lists and the specifications and article creation in EPR-system
• Check whether the files are complete and technically and administratively correct
• Daily report to the Concept team coordinator about the progress of the project and possible problems
• Applies basic engineering design principles on each project activity
• Conduct self and team’s internal quality checks to ensure defect free deliverables
