Job summary

Generac is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in design and product development. The role requires hands-on experience with 3D CAD, electrical component integration, and SAP ERP within a matrix organization.

You will design, test, and validate complex components, collaborate with manufacturing partners, and mentor junior engineers while driving new products to market.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Designs, validates, and brings new products to market.
• Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates complex components to produce final designs; evaluates design effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
• Develops, executes and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specs and process validation plans; creates and reviews BOMs.
• Collaborates with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Utilizes CAD/CAE systems to model new designs and produce detailed drawings.
• Mentors less experienced engineers; acts as SAP Super User within area.
• Other duties as assigned.
