Job summary

Resustainability is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&ID diagrams, and manage projects from engineering to handover.

The role requires hands-on experience in water and wastewater treatment projects, including ETP/STP and MEE technologies, with strong reporting and coordination skills in a Mumbai-based setting.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts and equipment drawings.
• Read and interpret P&IDs and coordinate with process, piping, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
• Plan, coordinate and manage mechanical project activities from engineering through installation, commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for management.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants and internal teams for timely completion.
• Identify technical and execution challenges and implement corrective actions.
• Work on water and wastewater treatment including ETP, STP, MEE and other waste treatment technologies.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, layouts, general arrangement drawings, and equipment drawings.
• Perform basic mechanical engineering calculations required for equipment selection, sizing, and project execution.
• Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and coordinate with process, piping, electrical, and instrumentation teams.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage mechanical project activities from engineering through installation, commissioning, and handover, with minimal supervision.
• Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), Weekly Progress Reports (WPRs), and project status updates for management.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure timely completion of project activities.
• Identify technical and execution challenges, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Work on ETP, STP, and Waste water treatment that includes ATFD, MEE and other waste treatment technologies.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering and project execution.
• Experience in water and wastewater treatment projects, preferably ETP and STP.
• Hands on experience in ZLD systems like MEE, ATFD.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical calculations and equipment installation.
• Experience in project planning, site coordination, contractor management, and progress monitoring.
• Ability to prepare DPRs, WPRs, and management reports.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
