Job summary

A leading company in the design services industry is looking for a Mechanical Designer to manage mechanical drawings and engineering designs for metering skids. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with standards, supervise their work, and support technical efforts within the team. Required qualifications include a degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least four years of experience in relevant industries, including Piping and Oil & Gas.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in Piping, Oil & Gas, or Process Industry.

• Ability to resolve conflicts in 3D CAD models.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 3D CAD model, P&ID, and General Arrangement (GA) drawing.

SUMMARY OF ROLE -

Responsible for Mechanical drawings and Engineering Design of metering skids, from conception through construction and as-built drawings. Ensuring design compliance with Internal Guidelines and Customer Specifications. Candidate should be familiar with National / International standards and good engineering practices.

Factor I: Accountability

• Provide technical support for drawings to the Sales and Applications teams.
• Review applicable Client Technical Specifications and Standards, e.g., Piping Class, Piping & Structural design.
• Set up project / Pipe class in 3D CAD software (preferably CADWORX) before starting 3D Model / GA drawing.
• Prepare 3D CAD model, P&ID, and General Arrangement (GA) drawing.
• Review 3D CAD model in Navisworks and resolve conflicts.
• Configure ISOGEN in CADWORX for Piping Isometrics drawings.
• Prepare GA and Fabrication drawings.
• Maintain records of review comments and notify Project Mechanical Engineer of cost variations due to changes.
• Follow PMO processes and procedures.
• Assist in preparing Piping Analysis in CAESAR II and Structural analysis in STAAD Pro.

Factor II: Knowledge and Skills

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Piping, Oil & Gas, or Process Industry.
• Good knowledge of Oil and Gas industry equipment, Instruments, Piping, and structural work.
• Understanding of ergonomics requirements per ISO and OSHA standards.
• Ability to generate module/library blocks and set up views and templates in models or layouts.

Factor III: Supervision

• Supervise own work regarding quality and productivity.
• Estimate effort for assigned tasks.
• Escalate issues related to quality, budget, or schedule promptly.
• Suggest ideas for cost and budget improvements.
