Job summary

Exicom is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a focus on thermal simulation to optimize thermal performance in power electronics. The role involves designing, analyzing, and validating thermal solutions, and collaborating with electrical, PCB, and manufacturing teams for integrated product designs.

The candidate should have 3+ years of thermal design experience, proficiency in ANSYS/COMSOL/Icepak, and hands-on CAD skills (SolidWorks/AutoCAD/CATIA).

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in thermal design and simulation.
  • Proficiency with thermal simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, Icepak).
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer principles, thermal dynamics, and fluid mechanics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Preferred: experience with power electronics packaging and cooling technologies.
  • Knowledge of material science related to thermal properties.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for thermal management

  • Work closely with electrical engineers, PCB designers, and manufacturing teams to integrate thermal solutions into product designs.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on thermal and mechanical aspects.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate materials and components for thermal management.
  • Manage thermal design projects from concept to production.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including design reports, test plans, and validation reports.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in thermal management technologies and simulation tools.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve thermal performance and reliability.
  • Contribute to the development of internal guidelines and standards for thermal design.
