ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a technically strong Mechanical Design Engineer High Voltage Circuit Breakers to join the product engineering team.
The role involves mechanical design, structural analysis, dimensional tolerancing, manufacturability assessment and qualification of high-voltage circuit breaker components and assemblies, particularly Dead Tank Circuit Breakers (DTCB).
The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in
- High‑voltage product design
- Mechanical engineering analysis
- CAD/CAE tools and applicable IEC/IEEE standards
- Along with the ability to collaborate with manufacturing, testing and cross‑functional engineering teams
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mechanical Product Design: Develop and evaluate mechanical designs for high-voltage circuit breaker components and assemblies, ensuring structural integrity, functional reliability and manufacturability.
- Mechanical & Structural Analysis: Perform fundamental mechanical and structural assessments to evaluate component strength, deformation, load‑bearing capability and design suitability.
- Dimensional Engineering & GD&T: Define component dimensions, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), ISO GPS requirements, fits and clearances to ensure accurate manufacturing and assembly.
- Interrupter / Arc Chamber Interfaces: Analyze component interfaces, clearances and dimensional requirements that support the intended operation of the arc chamber and interrupter assembly under dynamic switching conditions.
- Manufacturing & Assembly Support: Establish manufacturing tolerances and assembly requirements, review production‑related design challenges, and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.
- Type Testing & Product Qualification: Define and support component and assembly qualification requirements, including applicable type‑test and routine‑test requirements under relevant IEC/IEEE standards and customer specifications.
