Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle product development, from conceptualization and detailed design to prototyping, testing, and production support. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, a passion for innovation, and proficiency in CAD software and analytical tools. This role requires a strong understanding of plant design principles, industry codes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Development:
  • Conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical systems, components, and products from initial requirements to detailed specifications.
  • Create 2D and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD plant 3D, CATIA, Creo, Inventor, Fusion 360).
  • Generate detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing specifications following industry standards
  • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, injection moulding, sheet metal fabrication, additive manufacturing) for optimal performance, cost, and manufacturability.

Analysis & Validation:

  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses (e.g., FEA - Finite Element Analysis, CFD - Computational Fluid Dynamics, kinematics, stress analysis, thermal analysis) to validate designs and ensure compliance with performance, reliability, and safety standards.
  • Develop and execute test plans for prototypes and production units, analyse test data, and recommend design improvements.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers and cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including electrical & Instrumentation engineers, manufacturing, quality assurance, procurement, and project management to ensure seamless integration and successful project execution.
  • Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, from concept to production launch and post-launch support.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for assigned design tasks.
  • Communicate design progress, challenges, and solutions clearly and concisely to stakeholders.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose design-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to continuously improve product design and development efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and organized design documentation, including technical reports, design specifications, and operational manuals.
  • Adhere to national and international engineering standards, safety regulations, and company quality policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ year Experience
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in industrial machinery, industrial skids
  • Proficiency in at least one major CAD software package (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, AutoCAD, Inventor).
  • Solid understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles including mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and machine design.
  • Experience with engineering analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, SolidWorks Simulation, Staddpro)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinkingskills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing team, quality team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with Project Management.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and application.
  • Experience with prototyping and testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, ASME, ASTM).
  • Experience with specific design aspects relevant to plastics design, thermal management, Skid designing testing, assembly.
