Job summary

Simta Machinery in Coimbatore is seeking a mechanical design engineer to design and develop 3D components and assemblies using SolidWorks. You will prepare detailed 2D drawings with GD&T, tolerances, surface finish requirements, and create BOMs; perform interference checks and fitment verification; optimize designs for manufacturability, quality, and cost.

Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to support prototypes, testing, design validation, and revision

Responsibilities

• Designed and developed 3D mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Prepared detailed 2D engineering drawings with dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, and surface finish requirements.
• Created assembly drawings, exploded views, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Performed interference checks, fitment verification, and design modifications.
• Applied engineering principles for material selection, component sizing, and mechanical design calculations.
• Designed sheet metal components, brackets, frames, and mechanical structures as required by project specifications.
• Coordinated with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to resolve design and assembly issues.
• Supported prototype development, testing, and design validation.
• Maintained engineering drawings, CAD models, and revision documentation.
• Optimized designs for manufacturability, assembly, quality, and cost efficiency.
