Job summary

Gavin Engineering in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer for design and development of Power Distribution Centers, Power Equipment Centers, Modular E-Houses, LV/MV Switchgear, and Industrial Electrical Systems. A minimum of 8+ years in MV switchgear design is required.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on work with metal-clad switchgear, busbars, breakers, protective relays, and MV panels, plus strong 3D modeling skills. Knowledge of UL/NEMA/NEC standards is preferred.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years MV switchgear design experience.
• Hands-on experience in Metal-Clad Switchgear, Busbars, Breakers, Protective Relays and MV Panels.
• Proficient in 3D software and familiar with North American standards UL/NEMA/NEC.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in the design and development of world-class Power Distribution Centers (PDC), Power Equipment Centers (PEC), Modular E-Houses, LV/MV Switchgear, and Industrial Electrical Systems with minimum 8+ years' experience.

Preferred candidate profile

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8+ years of experience in MV Switchgear Mechanical Design with a switchgear manufacturer.
2. Hands-on experience in Metal-Clad Switchgear, Busbars, Breakers, Protective Relays, and MV Panels.
3. Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication, enclosure design, and Vendor drawing review & technical documentation.
4. Practical experience in designing Low-, Medium-, and High-Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards.
5. Experience designing LV/MV distribution panels, hybrid generators, recloser panels, transformers, enclosures, and bus bars.
6. Experience with Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, Eaton, or equivalent products is preferred
7. Experience with North American Standards (UL/NEMA/NEC)
8. Proficiency in 3D software.
