Job summary

Exponent Energy in Bengaluru, Karnataka, invites an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to shape the e^pump charging station packaging and e^pack enclosures. You will lead structural and thermal designs that balance performance, manufacturability, and cost.

Qualifications

• Expertise in structural design, thermal systems, and electro-mechanical packaging.
• Strong understanding of fluid systems, heat transfer, and refrigeration basics.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, IP sealing, and optimizing packaging for cost and performance.
• Solid knowledge of metals, plastics, composites and elastomers.
• Proven experience taking a product from concept to production with strong mathematical and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing for weight, volume, thermal performance, and IP sealing while ensuring serviceability and manufacturability (DFM/DFA)
• Performing conceptual designs, theoretical calculations, and tolerance stack analyses
• Developing and executing test plans to validate subsystems and full product performance
• Conducting root cause analyses (RCAs) for issues during testing and field deployment
• Collaborating with manufacturers, assembly teams, and mold designers to refine designs based on feedback
• Documenting the product development cycle from concept to production stabilization (FMEA, DFX, DVP, inspection plans, etc.)

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with 4 to 6 years' to develop sheet metal components (e.g., enclosures, electrical panels) and optimize packaging for the e^pump. You will drive structural and thermal designs that are efficient, cost-effective, and manufacturable while meeting safety and performance requirements.

• Designing for weight, volume, thermal performance, and IP sealing while ensuring serviceability and manufacturability (DFM/DFA)
• Performing conceptual designs, theoretical calculations, and tolerance stack analyses

What You Bring:
