Position: Professor
Departments: MBA / MCA
Location: Palanpur, Gujarat
Reporting To: Head of Department / Principal
Responsibilities
- Teach core and elective courses in MBA (e.g., Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations, Strategic Management, Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, etc.) and/or MCA (e.g., Data Structures, Algorithms, Database Management, Software Engineering, Web Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, etc.) depending on specialization.
- Develop and update course curriculum to reflect latest trends, technologies, research and industry needs.
- Prepare high-quality lecture plans, deliver lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and workshops.
- Design, administer and evaluate assessments (assignments, quizzes, exams, projects).
- Mentor, guide and supervise students' academic progress, projects, dissertations, internships.
- Engage in research: publish papers in reputed journals/conferences; apply for research grants; collaborate with other institutions/industry.
- Contribute to departmental and institutional administration (committee work, accreditation, quality assurance, academic planning).
- Facilitate industry-institute interaction: guest lectures, workshops, student placements, internships.
- Stay updated with developments in management / computer applications fields and integrate latest tools, software, techniques in teaching.
- Participate in faculty development programs, workshops, seminars for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational Qualification: PhD in Management / Business Administration (for MBA) or PhD in Computer Applications / Computer Science (for MCA). In case PhD is in progress, a Masters degree with excellent record may be acceptable, depending on policies.
- Specialization: Relevant specialization in subjects offered (e.g. HR, Finance, Marketing, Analytics for MBA; Software Engineering, Databases, ML, Web Tech for MCA).
- Experience: Minimum 3 yrs of teaching experience at the college or university level for MBA and/or MCA. Experience in industry is an advantage.
- Research: Proven record of publications in peer-reviewed journals/conferences. Experience in guiding students research projects/dissertations.
- Skills: Strong communication (English and possibly Gujarati/Hindi), good presentation skills, ability to use modern teaching tools (LMS, online platforms, software labs).
- Other Requirements: Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team; willingness to take on administrative duties; ability to contribute to accreditation and quality initiatives.
- Desirable Attributes: Experience collaborating with industry or in consulting projects; experience in online and hybrid teaching methodologies; knowledge of emerging technologies and trends (e.g. AI, ML, IoT, FinTech, Big Data, Cloud Computing, etc.) particularly for MCA; exposure to academic administration: curriculum design, accreditation (NBA, NAAC), quality assurance; commitment to student development beyond academics (mentoring, soft skills, career guidance).
