Job summary

Dsri Labs is seeking a skilled UTM Operator to join its Quality Control and Testing team. You will operate the Universal Testing Machine to evaluate mechanical properties of metals, polymers, and composites, performing tensile, compression, flexural, and shear tests in line with international standards.

The role involves machine setup, specimen preparation, data recording of load-elongation and stress-strain curves, report generation, and routine maintenance of testing equipment.

Qualifications

• ITI, Diploma, or BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience operating UTM equipment in manufacturing, foundry, lab, or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of material behaviors and stress–strain concepts.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret test results.

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and operate computerized UTM equipment.
• Prepare test specimens per standard dimensions.
• Conduct tensile, compression, and bend tests.

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented UTM Operator to join our Quality Control and Testing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating the Universal Testing Machine (UTM) to evaluate the mechanical properties of various industrial materials, including metals, polymers, and heavy-duty composites. You will ensure precise execution of tensile, compression, flexural, and shear tests in compliance with international quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation: Set up, calibrate, and safely operate computerized Universal Testing Machines (UTM).
• Sample Preparation: Prepare, measure, and mark test specimens according to standard dimensions and material specifications.
• Testing Execution: Conduct mechanical testing, including tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, compression, and bend tests.
• Data Recording: Read, interpret, and record load-elongation curves, stress-strain data, and breaking points.
• Report Generation: Prepare detailed test reports and documentation for internal quality assurance and client review.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, daily verification, and cleaning of testing equipment and grips.
• Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols, laboratory guidelines, and standards like ASTM, ISO, or IS codes.

Required Candidate Profile:

• Education: ITI, Diploma, or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Material Science.
• Experience: Proven experience operating UTM equipment in a manufacturing, foundry, laboratory, or industrial setting.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of material behaviors, stress-strain concepts, and testing software.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret mathematical test results accurately.
