JOB DESCRIPTION : MATERIALS PROJECT LEADER
Within the framework of the project vehicle, the Materials Project Leader is appointed for the development and industrialization of decorated and trimmed parts (aspect parts on the interior and exterior of the car – not including body colour parts), covering grain, harmony, finisher, soft material and plastic material, according to the project targets (costs, timing, quality and services).
PURPOSE
On the MXPE technical perimeter, the role ensures the QCDP target of the MXPE perimeter, guarantees the definition of materials and processes for parts and components in line with policy, functional requirements and economic constraints, carries out style/technique convergence for the decorated parts, provides support to DCHM, DSEE and DCTC perimeters, synthesises innovative aspects and ensures lessons‑learn application. The leader provides transversal support to the project and reports to RTSS, applying the QCDP target within the impacted project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the project liaison
- Act as the window person for RTSS concerning MXPE topics (C&T, plastic, rubber and glazing)
- Report QCDP material development to the project
- Define resources and material PIV budget for MXPE in line with project reference and levers identified and confirmed
- Manage resources and PIV budget animation for MXPE
- Conduct the MXPE technical review of the project for each milestone, share it with RTSS for the global DCHM technical review
- Prepare MXPE topics for level‑2 meetings and participate
- Manage the escalation process to the project when MXPE requirements fail
- Manage the MXPE team on project
- Ensure information sharing from QCDP project to the MXPE team for deliverable management
- Share detailed timing of offline car, online car (VRS DV, VRS UT & EL)
- Ensure the MXPE risky part animation
- Build and manage a list of risky parts for MXPE based on risk analysis from innovation, new technology, new materials, new supplier, lessons‑learn, etc.
- Manage the escalation process to the project if the “métier” rules are not respected
- Ensure the MXPE deliverables
- Confirm the schedule for MXPE deliverables to achieve RT/RAL robustness and PLM quotation (ST MXPE, RFQ opinion, DFNu and Ro quotation)
- Drive the schedule for deliverables
- Create MXPE synthesis for the global quotation to enter into the PLM system
- Plan and manage grain review on plan progress to prepare the TKO
- Conduct technical and economical assessment for each C&T milestone, with technical opinion from the MXPE team
- Define risky part lists for both development and industrialisation phases
- Build part‑to‑part for aspect development (grain review, PEG and aspect validation)
- Perform MXPE technical review
- Ensure style/technic convergence (before PCM)
- Define QCDP synthesis of the project concerning the MXPE perimeter
- Build the C&T schedule in line with project timing
- Choose décor technology in conformity with the organic PoRo progressing for the top hat
- Manage innovative C&T technology connected to the project in line with “métier” rules
- Create a C&T PoRo at PCM to manage the economic development of décor parts throughout the project
- Ensure style/technique convergence (between PCM and TKOM)
- Realise style/technique convergence for decorated and trimmed parts concerning Grain Harmony, finishers and soft trim
- Ensure timing and technical MXPE convergence
- Manage technical and economic convergence of new MXPE developments (new grain, harmony, décor, soft material for seats confection and décor parts)
- Define aspects from style/technique convergence in line with QCDP target (number of tools, diversity, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with economic targets validated in the C&T PoRo
- For each C&T milestone, write an economical and technical C&T assessment with MXPE field synthesis (CAP€, GPSG and/or BDEE/MIEE)
- Synthesise aspects into the part‑to‑part file (grain code/color code for each part) after G&H and D&G milestones
- Manage the master sample for each new aspect (and codify new aspects) after DEC milestone, according to the schedule
- Manage industrialisation and MXPE deliverables (after TKOM)
- Build a list of risky parts for industrialisation from lessons‑learn of the development phase before TKO (new technology, new production plant, etc.) to reinforce supplier management (regular meetings, aspect development schedule, material PIV management)
- Ensure aspect validation of parts in line with project timing (grain review vs assessment sheet, aspect validation, C&T definition conformance, materials and processes audit)
- Conduct a tripartite meeting between soft material supplier, part supplier and PSA to ensure convergence and delivery of soft material
- Report project information, IQx defect, driving test, etc. to the MXPE team to ensure material robustness and define action plan if needed
