Job description

Shantilal Muttha Foundation (SMF) is a not-for-profit organization engaged in the field of education, with a focus on implementation of a program called Mulyavardhan, which is an activity-based intervention to develop social, emotional and ethical skills, 21st century skills and life skills in primary and middle school children. The organization seeks to hire self‑motivated and proficient candidates for the position of Trainers who will be responsible for conducting training workshops for private school teachers all over India for the abovementioned areas in English.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Actively support HOD and curriculum department in designing need‑based capacity building programs, content development, case studies and training modules.
  • 2. Conduct online/offline training for teachers and other school stakeholders.
  • 3. Document capacity building, handholding visits and maintaining records regularly.
  • 4. Compile, analyse, discuss and finalise region‑wise specific capacity building needs in consultation with the Head.
  • 5. Conduct frequent field visits to project schools to:
    • Conduct classroom observations.
    • Understand challenges/difficulties of teachers in implementation of specific activities.
    • Support teachers to overcome identified challenges.
  • 6. Support program team in identification and documentation of good practices and case studies.
  • 7. Support M&E team in collecting qualitative information, as needed.
  • 8. Prepare and submit reports about developments made towards achieving planned objectives and quarterly and annual reports within specified time.
Knowledge and Skills required
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English, and good ability in Hindi/Marathi or any other regional language.
  • Excellent presentation/delivery skills.
  • The ability to relate to trainees at all levels.
  • Multi‑task and adhere to strict timelines.
  • Excellent people skills with an ability to encourage and motivate people.
  • Hard‑working, initiative‑taker and team player reflecting strong commitment towards work.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer skills (MS Office).
  • Knowledge or understanding of national policy documents on education, principles of education and child psychology will be an added advantage.
Experience
  • 1. Experience in the field of Education and teacher education.
  • 2. 2–5 years of experience in capacity building/training, and post‑training support.
  • 3. Experience of firsthand training with teachers and other stakeholders through facilitation and participatory workshops (mandatory).
  • 4. Experience of content writing, designing training modules and testing (desirable).
  • 5. Conducting training need analysis.
