Job summary

XPEL, Inc. seeks a self‑motivated Process / Quality Engineer to support Pune manufacturing, applying engineering techniques to improve processes and product quality. The role involves collaborating with Quality and R&D to implement site‑specific quality processes and train personnel.

You will monitor production KPIs, drive continuous improvement, lead corrective actions, assess equipment, troubleshoot, and present results in reports. Willingness to travel 50–75% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Materials Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of industry experience preferred.
• Experience with polymer films or coatings, process engineering, production operations and/or quality control environments.
• Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs that are not working as planned.
• Familiarity with statistics and hypothesis‑driven problem‑solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, DOE, 8D, DMAIC, Lean, etc.

Responsibilities

• Technical resource for ongoing production activities: monitoring, establishing and improving production quality, general production support, documentation and analysis of production KPIs.
• Collaborate with the Quality team to ensure quality metrics are achieved and develop a cadence for communication to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop site‑specific quality processes and collaborate with the Quality team to establish training processes.
• Review safety standards to ensure internal and external stakeholders are properly meeting guidelines.
• Lead site‑specific quality improvement, yield improvement and corrective action projects with internal and external stakeholders.
• Recommend manufacturing processes designed to be efficient, cost‑effective, and promote quality and reliability.
• Assess current equipment and processes and make recommendations for changes.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
• Present results in reports.
• Train personnel in equipment usage and processes.
• Collaborate with research and development team as technologies transition to pilot and scale‑up environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial or Materials Engineering preferred; alternatively candidates with significant operational coatings or films experience are encouraged to apply.
• 5+ years of industry experience preferred.
• Experience with polymer films or coatings, process engineering, production operations and/or quality control environments.
• Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs that are not working as planned.
• Familiarity with statistics and hypothesis‑driven problem‑solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, DOE, 8D, DMAIC, Lean, etc.
• Interpersonal skills for developing positive working relationships within a cross‑functional team.
• Desire to lead projects with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Process orientation with attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel 50–75%.
