Job summary

Kennametal India Ltd. is seeking an Executive- Manufacturing to lead shop floor activities, oversee assembly and commissioning, and ensure strict QA across electro-mechanical processes in Bengaluru. You will manage schedules, inventory, vendor commissioning, and field service support, driving safety and efficiency.

The role requires hands-on expertise in electrical assemblies, problem solving, and strong coordination with procurement and cross-functional teams to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• Executive level manufacturing experience in an industrial setting.
• Experience with SAP processes is advantageous.
• Strong shop floor and QA capabilities with a safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assembly & commissioning: plan project schedules, release control, and ensure electrical material readiness.
• Material handling: supervise inventory, coordinate procurement, and prevent shortages.
• Machine electrical assembly: execute electrical assemblies per drawings and schematics.
• Vendor site commissioning: manage switch-on protocols and verification tests at vendor sites.
• Quality assurance: verify wiring, panel layouts and critical safety circuits.
• Shop floor & operations: oversee daily activity, dispatch, safety, and process optimization.
• Troubleshooting & service: diagnose CNC/PLC issues and resolve field breakdowns.
• Customer site support: perform scheduled and emergency service visits.
• Root-cause analysis: provide technical support and RCA documentation.

Assembly & Commissioning: Project scheduling and Releases control : Read OHD's, create Project schedule, and electrical extract, release all the project electrical material (understanding of SAP process will be added advantage)

Material Handling & Management

• Inventory Control : Supervise the movement, storage, and accounting of electrical components and assembly materials.
• Supply Chain Alignment : Coordinate with the procurement team to prevent component shortages and track delivery schedules.
• Resource Optimization : Minimize waste, protect sensitive electronic inventory, and ensure material availability for production runs.

Machine Electrical Assembly : Execute complex electrical assemblies following engineering drawings and schematics.

Vendor Site Commissioning : Manage and execute machine switch-on protocols and verification testing at vendor locations.

Quality Assurance : Verify electrical wiring accuracy, control panel layouts, and critical safety circuits prior to operational deployment.

Shop Floor & Operations

• Shop Floor Management : Supervise daily shop floor activities to ensure production targets and timelines are met.
• Machine Dispatch Activities : Supervise the dispatch activities like machine backup, spare handling, Interlock Check, Checklist filling.
• Safety & Compliance : Enforce rigorous safety protocols and 5S standards across the manufacturing and assembly floor.
• Process Optimization : Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and optimize operational workflow efficiency.

Troubleshooting & Service Diagnostic & Resolution : Systematically diagnose CNC/PLC software bugs and resolve unexpected electrical or mechanical breakdowns.

Customer Site Support : Conduct scheduled and emergency customer site visits to resolve complex field service issues.

Root‑Cause Analysis

Root-Cause Analysis : Provide detailed technical support and root-cause analysis documentation for system or component failures.

Understanding of RCA techniques will be add advantage.
